I'm Luca Torresi, a Cloud Solution Architect and CSA Team Leader at Project Informatica, based in Macerata, Italy. I'm proud to be a Microsoft Azure MVP, a recognition awarded for sharing real-world knowledge with the technical community.

I specialize in cloud and hybrid infrastructure, helping enterprise organizations design, secure and operate their Microsoft Azure environments — from landing zone strategy and identity to network security and day-2 operations. With years of hands-on experience across server management, networking, Fortinet security technologies, backup and modern cloud platforms, I bring an end-to-end perspective to every project, with a constant focus on security and governance.

What I Do

My work spans architecture, security and hybrid cloud, including:

  • Designing Azure landing zones, subscription topologies and governance frameworks
  • Building secure network architectures with hub-spoke, Azure Virtual WAN and hybrid connectivity
  • Applying a Zero Trust approach to cloud and infrastructure security
  • Implementing identity and access governance with Microsoft Entra ID and Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
  • Integrating Fortinet security technologies and Network Virtual Appliances with Azure
  • Extending governance and security to on-premises workloads with Azure Arc
  • Architecting and delivering Azure Virtual Desktop environments
  • Driving secure datacenter migrations to Azure with Azure Migrate

Speaking & Community

As a Microsoft Azure MVP, I regularly speak at Italian and international community events — including Global Azure (Torino and Veneto), WPC, the Azure Italia Podcast, 1nn0va Saturday and Infrastructure as a Saturday. My sessions focus on practical, field-tested topics such as Zero Trust networking, Azure landing zone security, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Arc, secure migrations with Azure Migrate, Azure Firewall vs. FortiGate (NVA) design, and using GitHub Copilot in infrastructure and cloud engineering.
